Voicemail of your mobile

When you activate your Scarlet Mobile SIM card, your voicemail is activated by default.
Voicemail (messaging service) is activated when a call goes unanswered, e.g. because the mobile is switched off or you are already in a conversation.

Configuring your voicemail

Call 1991 with your mobile. The standard language for voicemail is English. You can change the language to Dutch via the following selection in the configuration menu: Call 1991 - key 3 - key 3 - key 1

To replace the standard message with a personalized greeting, proceed as follows:

  1. Call 1991 with your mobile.
  2. Select option 3.
  3. Then select option 1.

You then have the choice to activate the standard greeting or to record a personal message.

The voicemail service remains active when you are abroad. Incoming calls within the EU will be diverted to your voicemail for free when you don't pick up, just like in Belgium.

Outside the EU, incoming call charges are applied, the rate is the same for an incoming call to voicemail as for an incoming call.

As a reminder, you can access your voicemail via the number +32 473 15 19 91 if you are abroad.

To do so, call +32 473 15 19 91.

You can extend the ringing time before your caller is forwarded to voicemail by entering a code on your mobile.
To do this, type **61*+324751851**(response time)# on your mobile and press the send key (green phone).

You replace the (response time) with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30, the number of seconds your caller hears the phone ring before it is forwarded to voicemail.

The voicemail of Scarlet Mobile products is evolving to give you more options. You are now able to access your new voicemail to configure the language of your choice, record a new greeting and choose your PIN code. You can find the procedure to follow here:

  1. Call the 1991 number with your mobile and select the language of your choice: 1 for English, 2 for Dutch, 3 for French and 4 for German.
  2. Record your new welcome message.
  3. Configure the PIN code of your voicemail.

What are the advantages of this new voicemail?

You can now view your voicemail from another device. This allows you to always have access to your voicemail in case your mobile is lost or stolen. To do this, you need to call the number +32475151969 and enter your mobile number and the 4-digit PIN code of your voicemail. The number is also accepted in national (0475151969) and international (0032475151969) formats.

You can also leave a voice message for your correspondent without even having to call him. To use this feature, simply call the number 1932 or +32475151932.

Please note: this option is only available if your correspondent is with an operator using the Proximus network.

Finally, the capacity of your voicemail is also increased. Below is an overview:

  • Your messages are saved for 14 days.
  • Your voicemail will be considered full if the total of voice messages reaches 10 minutes or if you have 50 voice messages in your voicemail.
  • The maximum duration of a voice message is now 5 minutes.
  • The length of the welcoming message is 20 seconds for your name and 60 seconds for a personal or temporary greeting.
